Nothing says “future” like the deep past — or so seems to be the logic behind [初] ZP TPJ, a new audio-visual project just launched by animator Miao Jing and sound designer Jason Hou. We’ve seen the two of them work together before, creating this mesmerizing display at an Apple store in Chongqing a few years ago:

Their new project, says the duo, is “inspired by the golden era called ‘Zep Tepi’ (the first occasion) in Egyptian mythology.” That comes through in some of the imagery, like this 3D-rendered, glass prism cat god thing:

Public

Elsewhere, pyramids, fractals, and gleaming cubes collide with more contemporary imagery, such as surveillance cameras and the AlphaSphere, Jason Hou’s instrument of choice.
